This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in defining and executing the vision for the Health Data Platform and the expanding product suite of Smile Digital Health.
• Facilitate a clear understanding of Smile’s technical and business solutions for clients and potential customers through exploratory discussions, presentations, demonstrations, architectural diagrams/documentation, and other activities.
• Comprehend and outline customer-specific requirements.
• Aid in the preparation of responses to RFPs, RFIs, and similar solicitation documents.
• Elaborate on the adoption and migration of clients’ existing systems and data to the Smile platform.
• Build relationships with key clients and synchronize client roadmaps with Smile’s product roadmap.
• Guide customers through the purchasing process by identifying their needs and challenges and proposing suitable solutions.
• Offer scoping and sandbox environment assistance.
• Create high-level IT architecture specifications and design documents; troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues.
• Compile details and justifications for proposed solutions and present them to the Architecture Review Board.
• Discover solutions to current challenges and proactively anticipate future challenges.
• Assist in data design and migration to the Smile platform.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations along with ongoing technical consultation.
• Engage in product demonstrations and proofs of concept.
• Formulate and execute account management strategies in collaboration with the Sales team.
• Serve as a technical liaison among customers, service engineering, product, and support teams.
• Stay informed about Smile products, HL7 FHIR, market trends, customer environments, and the competitive landscape.
• Collaborate across various functions to enhance product, sales, and marketing from a technical viewpoint.
• 5-10+ years of experience in leading business development, technical sales, and/or customer consulting, contributing to system design or architecture.
• Strong expertise in healthcare technology across one or more sectors of the industry – providers, payers, exchanges, government programs – is highly preferred.
• Proficient in HL7 FHIR and legacy healthcare integration standards and practices is essential.
• Extensive hands-on experience in implementation and customer consulting.
• Proven experience in constructing complex technology-based systems delivered to customers at scale.
• Capability to manage a project from requirement scoping to the implementation launch.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical software product features, technical designs, product strategies, and intended solutions.
• Proficiency in presenting and influencing various organizational levels, including C-level/Executive levels.
• Experience in leading and/or contributing at a senior level to the development of strategic RFP responses.
• Familiarity with professional software development practices throughout the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience in mentoring new hires and colleagues to enhance their skills.
