This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Engage in technical discovery for SA-attached projects alongside Implementation Engineers.
β’ Evaluate telemetry, infrastructure, data volumes, tooling, and operational needs.
β’ Design comprehensive observability architectures that encompass ingestion, pipeline topology, data modeling, enrichment, normalization, alerting, and retention.
β’ Establish implementation strategies and architecture blueprints for the Implementation Engineering teams.
β’ Verify configurations, pipelines, and data models against production-scale requirements.
β’ Provide guidance to customers on strategies for adopting OpenTelemetry.
β’ Lead the architecture and planning phases from project kickoff to handoff to dedicated Implementation Engineer teams.
β’ Create reference architectures, design decision records, implementation plans, and standards for configurations.
β’ Assist Implementation teams with architectural challenges, scope alterations, and architecture-related decisions.
β’ Conduct architecture reviews prior to go-live to ensure production readiness.
β’ Design target architectures and phased cutover strategies for migrations from existing observability solutions.
β’ Identify architectural deficiencies, data quality risks, and technical debt, and develop scalable replacements.
β’ Develop and maintain internal reference architectures, design documents, runbooks, and implementation standards.
β’ Build and sustain production-grade demonstration infrastructure.
β’ Capture reusable field patterns and transform them into resources for the wider Implementation Engineering team.
β’ Act as the technical authority on intricate or unique customer scenarios.
β’ Mentor and enhance the skills of junior Implementation Engineers.
β’ Contribute to the integration of adjacent solutions, process re-engineering, and AI refactoring efforts.
β’ Share field insights with Product and Engineering to help shape the platform roadmap.
β’ 8+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Architect, Staff/Principal Engineer, observability engineer, or SRE.
β’ Proven ability to transition from hands-on execution to architecture-level strategic thinking.
β’ Extensive knowledge of observability platforms and telemetry systems at scale, including data modeling trade-offs among logs, metrics, and traces.
β’ Strong practical experience with OpenTelemetry, encompassing instrumentation strategies, collector configuration, exporters, and multi-signal pipeline design.
β’ Demonstrated capacity to design or oversee migrations from Splunk, ELK, Datadog, New Relic, or Dynatrace to modern alternatives.
β’ Experience in evaluating complex enterprise environments and creating sustainable, scalable, practical architectural designs.
β’ Solid understanding of AWS, GCP, Azure, containerized workloads, and environments based on Kubernetes.
β’ Excellent communication skills with engineering teams and senior technical leadership.
β’ Experience in producing technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design decision records, runbooks, and implementation plans.
β’ Familiarity with AI-assisted observability or AIOps.
β’ Valid authorization to work in the country where the candidate is applying.
β’ Salary information provided: $160Kβ$210K base compensation range.
