Senior Solutions Architect – AI, GenAI Specialism

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary specialist in leading AI and GenAI initiatives within the Professional Services team.

• Create AI/GenAI solutions on AWS utilizing Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, Amazon Q, SageMaker, and related serverless and data services.

• Generate architecture documentation for client engagements.

• Define and design comprehensive AWS solutions that include migrations, Landing Zones, modernization, and cloud governance.

• Conduct technical scoping calls and convert business requirements into actionable technical solutions.

• Provide precise effort estimates for AI and broader AWS projects.

• Draft Statements of Work that outline scope, success criteria, assumptions, risks, fee schedules, and project plans.

• Navigate AWS partner funding programs to optimize the value of funded engagements.

• Act in the capacity of fractional CTO or technical program lead for key accounts.

• Maintain advisory relationships, pinpoint upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and ensure program alignment across multiple Statements of Work.

• Establish technical direction for delivery engineers, assess architecture decisions, resolve delivery challenges, and guarantee that deliverables are achieved.

• Contribute directly to project delivery when bandwidth permits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and delivering AWS solutions within a consultancy, Professional Services, or partner setting.

• Extensive knowledge of Amazon Bedrock, including Agents, Knowledge Bases, Guardrails, and model selection.

• Strong familiarity with Amazon SageMaker, encompassing training, inference, and pipelines.

• Understanding of the broader AWS AI/ML service portfolio.

• Experience with agentic AI patterns, such as tool usage, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation methodologies, and production deployment considerations.

• Solid foundation in core AWS services, including compute, networking, storage, security, identity, and serverless technologies.

• Demonstrated capability to write detailed, commercially viable Statements of Work, including scoping, estimating, deliverables, assumptions, and risks.

• Confidence in customer-facing situations, including discovery sessions, architecture presentations, and advising C-level executives.

• Experience with AWS agent frameworks and tools like Strands SDK, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, and Amazon Quick.

• Proven track record in setting technical direction for delivery teams and ensuring quality in engineering outputs.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code; Terraform is preferred, or CloudFormation/CDK.

• Experience executing AWS migration programs, including MGN, wave-based migrations, and estate separation.

• Knowledge of AWS Landing Zone design, multi-account governance, Control Tower, or FinOps.

• Background in regulated sectors like water, utilities, financial services, or healthcare.

• AWS certifications such as ML Specialty or Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent qualifications.

• Previous experience in building or expanding a consultancy practice or capability area.

• Skills in commercial awareness, communication, learning agility, strategic thinking, autonomy, collaboration, and quality focus.

• Availability based in the UK.
