Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead technical discovery sessions with clients and transform initial concepts into well-defined solution designs.

• Create system architectures for web, mobile, and AI products, encompassing services, data models, hosting, and communication strategies.

• Draft the technical segments of proposals and scopes of work, detailing modules, user flows, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and cost estimates.

• Develop integrations with third-party APIs and vendors, implementing retries, queues, webhooks, and monitoring systems.

• Strategize multi-tenant and white-label configurations with a focus on data isolation and access control.

• Incorporate security and privacy measures, including encryption, audit logs, consent management, data residency, and audit evidence.

• Design AI and LLM functionalities, covering model selection, RAG, guardrails, and evaluations for production.

• Outline phased delivery starting with a lean MVP while preparing for comprehensive builds.

• Collaborate with sales and project managers on project scope, timelines, and risk assessment.

• Review code, pull requests, and technical methodologies to ensure alignment with design specifications.

• Mentor and support engineers, establish technical standards, and maintain technical quality throughout delivery and handover processes.

• Ensure architecture documentation remains up-to-date.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in software engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in designing systems as a solutions architect, technical lead, or a comparable role.

• Background in an agency, consultancy, or studio environment.

• Proven experience designing for multiple clients simultaneously, with the ability to switch contexts without compromising quality.

• Responsible for the architecture of client products that have successfully launched for real users.

• Strong foundation in backend and data principles.

• Experience in designing APIs and relational data models (Postgres or similar).

• Familiarity with cloud architecture on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containers, deployments, and monitoring tools.

• Expertise in designing third-party API integrations, webhooks, SSO, OAuth, background processing, and error handling.

• Hands-on experience with AI architecture, specifically in designing LLM or RAG features with production evaluation for client products.

• Strong capabilities in code and architecture review.

• Comfortable leading client-facing technical discussions and articulating trade-offs to non-technical founders.

• Proficient in writing clear technical scopes with achievable estimates for the team.

• Regular use of AI tools in design, review, and writing processes.

• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, row-level security, or white-label deployments (preferred).

• Familiarity with stringent privacy or compliance requirements, data residency regulations, or third-party security audits (preferred).

• Experience in mobile architecture using React Native or Flutter (preferred).

• Comfortable reviewing code written in TypeScript, Node.js (NestJS or similar), React, or Next.js (preferred).

• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify (preferred).

• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing technical standards (preferred).
