This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Collaborate with Account Managers - Solutions to expand sales opportunities in a specific region or market and successfully close deals.
• Comprehend, document, and validate customer requirements and success metrics.
• Articulate the advantages of Elsevier’s Academic Information Systems and Research Intelligence portfolios through demonstrations and sales presentations.
• Create tailored presentations and technical demonstrations based on customer needs assessments.
• Interact with Product and Marketing regarding product features and development roadmaps.
• Review opportunity and account details in CRM and prepare for technical discussions.
• Conduct demonstrations and record project requirements and customer needs in CRM.
• Collect customer insights and facilitate smooth transitions to Implementation Managers.
• Lead the technical sales process through client discovery, needs analysis, and solution development.
• Draft and present technical product presentations and address technical inquiries.
• Assist in user group meetings and conferences while collaborating with Marketing on use cases and value propositions.
• Oversee technical tender requirements and responses.
• Design technical solutions and proposals that align with client needs and promised functionalities.
• Participate in product roadmap discussions and strategic planning.
• Support implementation and post-installation processes.
• Generate referrals and reference customers, while helping to identify potential clients through professional networks.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of sales experience as a Solution Engineer/Pre-Sales Consultant or in a comparable role.
• Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of publishing systems and workflows is a plus.
• Ability to present concepts in a clear and user-friendly manner.
• Strong communication skills.
• Outstanding relationship-building abilities.
• Experience working in an international, matrixed organization is advantageous.
• Proficient in English.
• Extensive experience in selling, servicing, and implementing software systems.
• Proven track record in complex solution-sales methodologies, particularly “consultative selling.”
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional software demonstration and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to conceptualize broad software solutions.
