Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Sales to confirm the solution approach prior to commercial commitment, assessing technical suitability, implementation complexity, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.

• Provide both business and technical expertise during solution demonstrations and assist in the development of Statements of Work and scoping for implementation.

• Facilitate discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of their business processes and operational models.

• Align customer workflows with Five Sigma capabilities and design optimal solution architectures.

• Establish clear distinctions between standard product offerings, configuration options, professional services, product enhancements, and partner responsibilities.

• Take ownership of the Solution Design Document, which includes business context, comprehensive solution flow, organizational and line-of-business models, product taxonomy, integration architecture, non-functional requirements, and roadmap alignment.

• Make decisions regarding integration architecture for interconnected systems, addressing protocols, data exchange patterns, directionality, and authentication methods.

• Define the non-functional posture that encompasses throughput, SLAs, security, compliance, feature flags, availability, and disaster recovery.

• Ensure alignment among stakeholders prior to the commencement of implementation.

• Clarify the intent of solutions and address architectural inquiries during the delivery phase.

• Evaluate implementations against the established designs and assess change requests for compliance.

• Document implementation insights and recurring customer requests, providing feedback to Product teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end P&C claims lifecycle, from FNOL through to settlement, including reserves, reinsurance, subrogation, and salvage.

• Understanding of policy structures, including distinctions in coverage, peril, and incidents, as well as limits, deductibles, endorsements, and bordereau reporting.

• Familiarity with the regulatory environment in at least one market: FCA (UK), APRA (Australia), state DOI (US), GDPR/DPA.

• Exposure to various customer archetypes such as Lloyd's coverholders, MGAs, TPAs, direct insurers, InsurTechs, and brokers.

• Experience in integration architecture across REST, SOAP, webhooks, event streams, and file-based patterns.

• Ability to make independent decisions regarding synchronous/asynchronous, push/pull, and protocol approaches.

• Understanding of API design principles, including OpenAPI/Swagger, authentication patterns, idempotency, and error handling.

• A configuration-first approach, with the ability to determine when to configure, request product enhancements, or utilize custom work.

• Familiarity with contemporary SaaS architecture, including multi-tenancy, feature flags, and role-based access control.

• Capability to lead two-hour discovery workshops with 5–15 participants from various roles and generate actionable outputs.

• Proficiency in presenting solution designs to C-level stakeholders and justifying architectural decisions.

• Strong written communication skills tailored to both engineering and business audiences.

• Over 7 years of experience in solution architecture, technical consulting, or hands-on delivery of SaaS insurance or claims platforms.

• Previous responsibility for managing multi-workstream customer implementations, such as payments, policy integration, document management, and reporting.

• Proven track record of influencing Product direction by providing insights from customer interactions.

• Comfortable collaborating with Sales during the pre-sales phase and with Delivery during execution.
