Solar Safety Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee EHS functions at the project site.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the project EHS team.

• Implement and oversee safety protocols for BESS installation and commissioning, focusing on thermal runaway prevention, fire suppression systems, and electrical hazard mitigation.

• Assist in the maintenance and execution of EHS programs, compliance plans, and initiatives at the assigned location.

• Lead through influence and strategic collaboration with project and construction teams.

• Assess potential environmental, health, and safety risks.

• Maintain safety credentials and records.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred) or over 5 years of leadership experience in a related field.

• Familiarity with DOT/DOL/EPA regulations and OSHA/industrial safety compliance as they pertain to the power generation sector.

• Capability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Maintain current safety credentials.

• Proven ability to assess environmental health and safety-related risks.

• Understanding of record-keeping principles and practices.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.

• Capability to interact and communicate effectively across all levels and diverse cultures.

• Excellent organization and planning skills.

• Ability to uphold confidentiality.

• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving history.

• Capability to safely operate a company vehicle.

• Demonstrated proficiency in using standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.

• Willingness to travel up to 100% in a multi-state capacity.

• Capacity to engage in frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, while working around moving mechanical parts, in elevated work areas, and in varying weather and temperature conditions.

• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally manage heavier loads with assistance.
