Consulting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee the implementation of Cayenta CIS software and professional services from the initial phase to go-live and stabilization.

• Supervise and mentor Application Consultants and project resources at various consulting levels.

• Ensure solution oversight across multiple concurrent Cayenta CIS implementations.

• Distribute and balance resources for client projects while enhancing utilization and billable ratios.

• Cultivate an agile and accountable team environment centered on problem-solving, continuous learning, and professional development.

• Assist in performance evaluations and provide reports on team performance metrics and trends to senior management.

• Promote repeatable delivery frameworks, including fit-to-standard configurations, industry templates, and a training-first approach to user adoption.

• Direct complex or new CIS solutions, custom modifications, new utility types, regulatory settings, and initial integrations.

• Evaluate solution architecture, integration design, and data conversion strategies.

• Propel ongoing enhancements of Cayenta’s implementation methodology and documentation.

• Conduct client workshops to present the Cayenta CIS product and gather requirements.

• Collaborate with various departments on the transition from sales to services and post-go-live support to Customer Support.

• Execute post-implementation reviews and facilitate handoff processes.

• Establish, monitor, and manage project budgets, cost estimates, allocations, project health, milestones, go-lives, and variance reporting.

• Maintain client relationships and communicate with executive sponsors and steering committees.

• Identify delivery risks, develop mitigation plans, manage change control, and resolve escalations.

• Leverage extensive knowledge from Cayenta CIS implementations to address new scenarios.

• Plan and conduct internal consultant training sessions and Harris user conference presentations as requested.

• Advocate for AI-assisted tools used for statements of work, status reports, test documentation, meeting summaries, and variance analysis.

• Create and implement best practices, standards, and processes for the Cayenta professional services team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional services or consulting role, preferably in utility/municipal software implementations.

• At least 4 years of experience in a senior or managing consultant position, with a proven record across 4 or more complex CIS implementation projects or 20+ successful upgrades, or 2+ years of formal leadership experience for candidates from a people-management background.

• Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent software implementation projects for utility or municipal clients.

• Familiarity with the utility customer-to-cash lifecycle and/or public sector implementation settings.

• Proven ability to manage project P&L, forecast budgets, optimize consultant utilization, and control contract scope.

• Practical understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid software implementation methodologies.

• Experience with PSA/project management and testing tools, including Jira, CayStone/SpiraTest, ServiceNow, Power BI, and Excel.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal capabilities.

• Ability to manage relationships with executive clients and cross-functional teams effectively.

• Capacity to build and sustain robust client relationships.

• Must possess a current, valid passport.

• Legally eligible for international travel, including possessing passport-based visa exemptions or necessary travel visas for Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean.
