Software Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create event-driven, data-intensive backend services using Node.js / TypeScript, leveraging Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL), ECS, and SQS to support large-scale AI workloads.

• Break down intricate healthcare and AI workflows into microservices architectures with well-defined service boundaries and data ownership.

• Develop synchronous REST and asynchronous messaging patterns, delivering services that are independently deployable.

• Promote test-driven development within the team, encompassing unit, integration, and contract testing.

• Construct AI pipelines for processing both structured and unstructured data for intelligent decision-making systems.

• Create and implement scalable AI-enabled systems and services for critical healthcare platforms.

• Design cloud-native architectures and distributed systems that support AI-driven applications.

• Collaborate with engineering teams, product stakeholders, and technical leadership to translate requirements and research concepts into secure, dependable, and deployable solutions.

• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary to meet team goals and project success.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial experience designing and deploying AI-enabled systems in production settings.

• Strong hands-on engineering expertise with React and Node.js / TypeScript, creating production-grade services, REST APIs, and integrations.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or Claude Code.

• Proficient hands-on experience with AWS data and messaging services.

• Experience in designing and developing microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems that support AI workloads.

• Proven record of practicing test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing (unit, integration, and contract tests).

• Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and DevOps practices for scalable AI systems.

• Strong problem-solving skills and experience in troubleshooting complex distributed systems.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to facilitate technical discussions and influence engineering decisions.

• Experience in building AI solutions within regulated environments such as healthcare or federal government systems.

• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, or healthcare interoperability standards.

• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks, agent-based architecture, or intelligent automation systems.

• Experience in relational data modeling and performance tuning on PostgreSQL / Amazon Aurora.

• Experience in creating asynchronous, message-driven workflows using Amazon SQS and object storage with Amazon S3.

• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a government/public trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting, when required for the position.
