Software Engineering Manager – Order Fulfillment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate and partner with UX, engineering, and product management teams to develop secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions.

• Document, review, and ensure adherence to quality and change control standards.

• Write custom scripts or code to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and testing scenarios.

• Work alongside vendors and partners to implement essential tooling and platforms.

• Create dashboards, logging mechanisms, alert systems, and responses to identify and proactively tackle issues.

• Contribute to enterprise-wide tools for destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment.

• Assess new technologies for potential enterprise adoption.

• Participate in and lead review board sessions to promote consistency across the enterprise.

• Step in for product teams when engineers are unavailable.

• Address inquiries from engineers, product teams, and support teams.

• Monitor tools and engage in discussions that foster collaboration among product teams.

• Provide application support for production-level software.

• Serve as a technical escalation point for team engineers.

• Lead, mentor, and coach Software Engineers.

• Attract, retain, and nurture top talent.

• Conduct annual and mid-year reviews, utilizing development plans and team feedback.

• Encourage collaboration and expose engineers to various career interests.

• Advocate for modern software development practices.

• Guide team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution across product teams.

• Engage in learning activities focused on contemporary software design and development practices.

• Acquire new technologies and best practices through reading, tutorials, and video resources.

• Build relationships with technology leaders in other companies to learn best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Proficient in an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java.

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

• 5-7 years of relevant work experience is preferred.

• 5 years of experience with GCP applications, backend Java, and leadership on complex enterprise projects is preferred.

• Proficient in a modern scripting language, ideally Python.

• Proficient in a contemporary web application framework such as Ruby on Rails, Spring MVC, or Node.js.

• Proficient in crafting SQL queries against relational databases.

• Mastery of modern product development processes and pipelines.

• Skilled in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques.

• Skilled in effective system monitoring and log analysis techniques.

• Capable of quickly grasping complex systems.

• Experience in guiding junior team members through Software Engineering fundamentals in a professional environment.

• Experience in managing and developing team members professionally.

• Experience in balancing workloads across teams.

• Experience in managing vendor relationships.

• Experience in translating high-level strategies into tactical execution.
