Manager – Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop technical teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently.

• Work collaboratively with other technical leaders to create a unified product suite.

• Cultivate a high-performing team environment focused on engineering excellence, security, and agility.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to align the team with a prioritized project backlog.

• Contribute to technical solutions and assist in defining user stories that reflect the product vision.

• Guide the team in comprehending and applying the software development lifecycle.

• Identify and communicate potential obstacles to the team and leadership.

• Offer technical guidance and hands-on support as needed.

• Eliminate barriers to enhance team productivity.

• Execute and continually refine department processes, standards, and benchmarks.

• Evaluate team and individual performance against established quality metrics.

• Ensure direct reports are held accountable for meeting performance standards.

• Oversee hiring, compensation management, employee relations, performance feedback, and coaching.

• Mentor team members to foster personal and professional growth.

• Act as an escalation point for complex challenges.

• Address obstacles and contribute to the overall advancement and quality of the department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Minimum of four years of experience in AI.

• Previous experience in software engineering is essential.

• Proven leadership skills, either people-oriented or technical.

• Strong foundational knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data science concepts.

• Practical experience with relevant tools and frameworks.

• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other suitable software development methodologies.

• Demonstrated financial responsibility and accountability in budget management.

• Exceptional leadership skills, sound judgment, and business acumen.

• Ability to build rapport, establish trust, and achieve consensus among teams and stakeholders.

• Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.

• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

• Knowledge of CI/CD principles.

• Experience with Microsoft operating systems and products, including Microsoft Outlook or similar tools.

• Excellent facilitation, project management, and organizational skills.

• Capability to effectively manage competing priorities.

• Skill in developing and delivering engaging, informative, and compelling presentations utilizing data analytics and presentation tools.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Experience with PyTorch.

• Familiarity with machine learning libraries.

• Knowledge of XGBoost.

• Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Experience with Transformers.

• Background in data science experimentation.

• Knowledge in model hosting and evaluation.

• Familiarity with RAGAS.
