Engineering Manager II, SDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SDETs focused on automation, performance, and reliability.

• Define and implement a comprehensive end-to-end test automation strategy across web, mobile, and API layers.

• Advocate for Shift-Left Testing and incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with Development Managers and Leads to enhance release quality, coverage, and speed.

• Set benchmarks for automation quality, performance, and coding standards.

• Construct and refine TypeScript/Playwright frameworks.

• Manage release readiness, test planning, and quality gates for significant product launches.

• Propel test productivity initiatives utilizing GenAI and AI tools, including intelligent test generation and analysis.

• Ensure comprehensive coverage across functional, non-functional, performance, and security testing.

• Provide architectural guidance regarding testing strategy, tooling, and infrastructure.

• Encourage continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the SDET sub-department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 9 years of experience in Quality Engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring a sizable SDET team.

• Strong practical background as a Test Automation Architect, preferably in TypeScript and Playwright.

• Excellent knowledge of test automation design patterns, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments (AWS/GCP), and development workflows.

• Proficient in API testing, performance testing (JMeter, k6, or Gatling), and mobile test automation (Appium or equivalent).

• Solid understanding of Shift-Left Testing and early quality validation in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Proven ability to create scalable automation frameworks and enhance automation coverage.

• Experience in building testing infrastructure and pipelines for microservices or cloud-native applications.

• A track record of scaling teams and processes in dynamic product organizations.

• A passion for mentoring engineers and fostering continuous learning.

• Enthusiasm for utilizing GenAI and AI agents to enhance testing productivity, efficiency, and intelligence.
