This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Lead the engineering efforts for the Platform Services team, which is responsible for shared infrastructure, internal tools, and core services.
• Take ownership of and enhance the distributed systems architecture to ensure reliable, extensible, and high-performance platform services.
• Drive significant cost optimization for cloud infrastructure while maintaining reliability and performance standards.
• Manage roadmap planning, estimation, and ensure predictable delivery, balancing technical debt, new features, and operational stability.
• Establish practices for observability and incident management, ensuring quick detection, diagnosis, and resolution of issues.
• Facilitate blameless postmortems that lead to meaningful solutions.
• Utilize metrics and data to prioritize tasks, assess trade-offs, and report on platform health, costs, and team performance.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers; set technical standards and foster a culture of ownership and quality craftsmanship.
• Collaborate with product engineering, SRE/infrastructure, security teams, and leadership.
• Communicate platform priorities, risks, and progress updates to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead platform engineers in building and managing shared services, internal platforms, and infrastructure across diverse product lines.
• Oversee GCP/AWS cloud infrastructure and service management, including provisioning, scaling, security, and cost governance.
• Direct the observability strategy encompassing metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Spearhead the adoption of AI-driven engineering practices, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted tooling.
• Minimum of 10 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a Software Development Manager (or equivalent) position.
• Expert-level proficiency in either Go, Python, or Node.js.
• Previous experience managing a platform team or serving as an individual contributor on platform teams for a minimum of 3 years at an enterprise scale.
• Strong hands-on experience, including code reviews, production debugging, and in-depth architectural work.
• Candidates who have been in a purely managerial role (non-hands-on) for the past year will not be considered suitable.
• Extensive practical experience with GCP and/or AWS service management, including provisioning, scaling, IAM, networking, and cost governance.
• Proven track record of leading cost optimization initiatives in an enterprise cloud setting with measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, including consistency, availability, fault tolerance, scaling patterns, and trade-offs at scale.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or similar.
• Data-driven mindset for decision-making, prioritization, and performance reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in roadmap planning, estimation, and timely delivery of complex initiatives.
• Strong skills in people management, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Ability to effectively collaborate across engineering, product, and security teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• AI-first mindset, actively utilizing AI tools in engineering workflows in recent years.
• Experience in building or integrating agent-driven systems is highly advantageous.
