Software Engineer – Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Enhance the analytics service offerings and storage capabilities for open file formats such as Iceberg and DuckDB.

• Streamline assets to accelerate delivery for websites and mobile applications.

• Expand the edge network to expedite uploads and implement automatic cache invalidation.

• Elevate the performance, observability, and reliability of the storage server.

• Collaborate with the frontend team to create a fast and robust storage explorer.

• Enhance APIs, client libraries, and CLI to provide an outstanding end-to-end developer experience.

• Address escalated support issues and identify as well as resolve systemic platform challenges.

• Engage with client libraries, CLI, CDN, storage server, and deployment infrastructure.

• Contribute to the open-source server and upstream dependencies, including the TUS server.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience with Node.js in a production environment.

• Experience with highly scalable and distributed systems.

• Background in backend application development and infrastructure experience in deploying, monitoring, and scaling services.

• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.

• Experience in performance tuning.

• Proficient in production-grade PostgreSQL, including tuning and troubleshooting.

• Capability to drive projects from inception to completion.

• Previous experience with developer tools is a plus.

• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure along with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Experience in designing and operating large-scale file upload/download pipelines is a plus.

• Understanding of CDN integration and optimization is a plus.

• Familiarity with image and video processing tools, formats, and codecs is a plus.

• Experience with frontend technologies like Next.js and React is a plus.
