Software Engineer – Onboard Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Create and execute high-throughput, low-latency logging frameworks for telemetry, event, and console logs.

• Design, develop, and implement features, interfaces, and optimizations for Clockwork in collaboration with the Autonomy, Cloud, and Safety teams.

• Recognize and pursue opportunities to enhance the performance, reliability, and usability of Clockwork, while assessing trade-offs in resource-constrained settings.

• Prototype, develop, and sustain sensor interfaces that power the autonomous vehicle Perception system.

• Produce high-quality software by means of comprehensive automated testing and both manual and automated code reviews.

• Expand the capabilities, usability, performance, and reliability of Clockwork, StackOS, and the onboard segment of Deploy Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in C++ with a profound understanding of multithreading, concurrency models, lock-free data structures, and memory management.

• Familiarity with the software engineering life cycle and principles of algorithm design.

• Experience in developing high-performance software systems within resource-constrained environments, preferably in safety-critical applications.

• Solid understanding of POSIX, Linux, and concurrent programming.

• Strong grasp of networking fundamentals.

• Comfortable working with and debugging embedded systems.

• Proficiency with tools such as Bazel and Boost.

• Excellent communication abilities and capacity to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

• Experience in performance evaluation and optimization is highly valued.

• Experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or related industries is also highly desirable.

• Possible verification of residency, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship may be required due to U.S. national security and export-control regulations.
