Senior Software Engineer – Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead teams in software engineering through the development of features, troubleshooting technical issues, and overseeing product releases.

• Strategically plan large tasks and effectively delegate responsibilities.

• Review pull requests to ensure high standards of code quality and adherence to established guidelines.

• Deliver sophisticated, production-ready features to QA while minimizing defects.

• Collaborate to address and resolve technical challenges.

• Utilize expertise in backend, frontend, or DevOps programming.

• Foster transparency, maintain a robust code contribution rate, manage bugs, and create improvement tickets.

• Mentor junior engineers and support the recruitment and training of technical staff.

• Supervise system updates, track system health, and ensure applications remain current.

• Assume full responsibility for production readiness and identify potential code risks.

• Advocate for and uphold QA practices.

• Act as a liaison among engineering, management, product, business teams, and stakeholders.

• Communicate technical decisions through design documents, discussions, and comprehensive documentation.

• Provide mentorship through pairing, constructive feedback, and regular one-on-one meetings.

• Identify and communicate any project risks and requirements issues.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.

• Over 6 years of professional experience with both React and Node.js.

• More than 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• At least 3 years of experience supporting teams or collaborating with subject matter experts, focusing on team success and learning from leadership.

• Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of industry trends, with the ability to offer insights and support to the team as necessary.
