Software Engineer – Mid-Level/Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop applications, APIs, integrations, data workflows, and internal tools to support healthcare operations.

• Manage features from problem identification through to implementation, testing, release, and continuous improvement.

• Utilize Ruby on Rails, Python, Node.js, and PostgreSQL in a data-driven environment.

• Enhance performance, data integrity, reliability, and visibility in production.

• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders effectively.

• Mindfully employ AI coding tools with proper review, testing, and accountability.

• At a senior level, oversee larger technical projects, guide architectural decisions, and elevate engineering standards while maintaining hands-on involvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Production experience with Ruby on Rails or Python, along with the capability to learn and work across the technology stack.

• Strong SQL skills and practical experience with PostgreSQL.

• Understanding of data structures, API design, testing, debugging, and system performance fundamentals.

• Experience in delivering web applications or comprehensive full-stack functionalities.

• Knowledge of how the user interface, services, and database interact.

• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support processes.

• Excellent communication skills, curiosity, and adaptability to changing requirements.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and the ability to assess its outcomes critically.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Preferred: experience in healthcare, insurance, or sensitive-data environments.

• Preferred: knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or observability tools.

• Preferred: experience with data pipelines, event-driven systems, or reliable third-party integrations.

• Preferred: proficiency in Node.js or C# in addition to a primary backend programming language.
