Software Engineer – Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Develop Mercury’s Infrastructure Platform to meet the expanding requirements of the Engineering Organization.

• Create a platform that is friendly to AI, suitable for both engineers and AI agents.

• Execute essential infrastructure projects.

• Simplify complex initiatives into manageable components.

• Establish infrastructure strategies through comprehensive RFCs and technical specifications.

• Oversee networking and container orchestration systems.

• Collaborate with product teams to facilitate AWS requirements.

• Construct secure-by-default, observable-by-default, and maintainable infrastructure foundations.

• Troubleshoot Linux issues and assist product engineers in understanding the behavior of production services.

• Implement infrastructure changes regularly and enhance existing systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience with AWS.

• Strong enthusiasm for cloud-native open-source technologies and a willingness to contribute code upstream.

• In-depth understanding of low-level operating system principles, including Linux, file systems, and containers.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in creating detailed technical documentation, RFCs, and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with operating in regulated environments like HITRUST or SOC2.

• More than 2 years of experience working in large Terraform environments.

• At least 2 years of experience in coding.

• Eagerness to learn and tackle challenging problems.
