This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead and manage a high-performing, distributed infrastructure organization consisting of around 12 engineers.
• Foster operational excellence, reliability, and accountability throughout infrastructure services.
• Oversee capital and operating budgets, manage vendor relationships, and handle contract negotiations.
• Define the technical direction for data centers, cloud environments, Linux, Kubernetes, networking, storage, observability, and network security.
• Function as a service provider to Network Operations teams by developing and maintaining hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with Product and Development teams to design, architect, and document infrastructure solutions.
• Integrate SLAs, performance targets, scalability, and capacity planning into the infrastructure design process.
• Recruit and develop team leads to establish a robust leadership bench.
• Collaborate with Security and organizational leadership to establish and uphold infrastructure security policies and standards.
• Spearhead security patching and operating system upgrade schedules while partnering with audit and compliance teams, including SOX and SOC.
• Develop strategic plans, roadmaps, and executive presentations that link infrastructure investments to business outcomes.
• Manage the 24/7/365 on-call escalation path and establish a reliable escalation model and on-call program.
• Advocate for automation, standardization, and modern infrastructure practices.
• Identify opportunities for AI to enhance infrastructure operations and engineering efficiency.
• Represent infrastructure externally with customers and partners when necessary.
• Act as the infrastructure integration lead for future acquisitions.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or operations is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in team leadership, preferably with experience managing through team leads or managers.
• Strong technical expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, open-source tools, cloud infrastructure and environments, data center operations, networking, storage, observability, and network security.
• Proven history of managing capital and operating budgets, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
• Experience leading teams through mergers, organizational consolidations, or other significant structural changes is highly valued.
• A background in telecom, VoIP, or other carrier-grade/high-availability service environments is strongly preferred.
• A demonstrated track record of achieving measurable infrastructure cost optimization is a plus.
• Must be available to work during US business hours.
