Software Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development of comprehensive end-to-end technical solutions for various projects and platforms.

• Create and uphold technical solutions that adhere to engineering and architectural standards.

• Strategize, assess, recommend, design, implement, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.

• Offer expert guidance on system/application management, installation, configuration, provisioning, platform planning, integration, and release/deployment management.

• Provide support for the Encompass loan origination and Blend point-of-sale platforms, including business rules and workflows.

• Design and implement Encompass solutions, such as plugins, workflow rules, web input forms, and task-based processing.

• Carry out engineering strategies for tools and automation across build, test, release, and configuration tasks.

• Generate solution alternatives and collaborate with stakeholders throughout development projects.

• Create and document detailed solution designs while acting as a subject matter expert for applications.

• Develop complex applications and systems, involving programming and coding tasks.

• Design functional, technical, and user-interface specifications.

• Consult on requirements and specifications, suggesting optimal software/system solutions.

• Evaluate technical deliverables and identify quality gaps or redesign necessities.

• Suggest and implement buy/build/reuse enhancements to improve customer experience, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Establish application metrics and performance objectives in collaboration with technology partners.

• Detect and resolve application, data, cross-capability, and cross-release challenges.

• Assess business and environmental requirements and propose solutions within the business technology architecture.

• Collaborate with architects on environmental modifications, data conversion impacts, and performance specifications.

• Conduct code reviews and operational readiness evaluations.

• Lead remediation strategies for performance, risk, and governance concerns.

• Foster stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory standards.

• Engage in continuous improvement, automation, knowledge transfer, mentoring, and team development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside within the TD footprint: CT, DE, FL, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VT, VA, DC.

• Bachelor’s degree, Postgraduate degree, or Technical Certificate is required.

• Strong academic foundation in fields such as computer science or engineering.

• 5–7 years of relevant experience is essential.

• Strong communication skills are preferred.

• Experience with Encompass configuration is preferred.

• Business analysis experience is preferred.

• Underwriting experience is preferred.

• Extensive data reporting experience is preferred.

• Software engineering experience is preferred.

• Website design experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with Encompass web is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of business, organizational, technical environments, processes, procedures, tools, and relevant technology areas.

• Expert understanding of engineering frameworks, technologies, tools, processes, and procedures.

• Capability to work independently and/or autonomously as a senior/lead.

• Knowledge of software engineering activities, enterprise frameworks, and methodologies.

• Ability to conduct code reviews, operational readiness assessments, and support solution design approvals.

• Skill in identifying and managing risks while adhering to regulatory requirements.
