This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +8 more states.
β’ Develop product features centered on workflows utilizing React, TypeScript, REST APIs, and relational data access.
β’ Take ownership of specific features from initial clarification and technical design to implementation, testing, release, and post-production follow-up.
β’ Contribute to backend code using C#/.NET and EF Core.
β’ Convert designs into accessible, responsive, and maintainable interfaces for forms, tables, approvals, permissions, and data-heavy workflows.
β’ Work closely with the Product Design Lead to address interaction specifics and ensure a unified user experience.
β’ Enhance and repurpose shared components and design-system patterns.
β’ Design and utilize REST APIs, incorporating validation, error handling, and frontend/backend contracts.
β’ Collaborate with relational schemas and an ORM to implement safe data modifications and troubleshoot correctness or performance issues.
β’ Assist in developing import and integration workflows for migrating customer data into the new SaaS suite.
β’ Create unit and integration tests that encompass user behaviors and business rules.
β’ Identify issues across browser state, network boundaries, application code, and database queries.
β’ Engage in backlog refinement, code reviews, pairing, and agile delivery using GitHub and Linear.
β’ Utilize AI-assisted development tools judiciously while maintaining responsibility for code quality and customer impact.
β’ Over 3 years of professional software engineering experience in developing production web applications.
β’ Extensive production experience with React and TypeScript.
β’ Familiarity with a backend web framework such as C#/.NET, Java/Spring, Python/FastAPI or Flask, Node.js, or similar technologies.
β’ Strong understanding of REST API principles, including validation, error handling, authentication flows, and client/server debugging.
β’ Experience with relational databases and an ORM; ability to analyze schemas, queries, and data integrity.
β’ Practical experience in unit and integration testing for both frontend and backend code.
β’ History of collaboration with product designers and interpreting design specifications.
β’ Accessibility expertise with complex forms, data grids, keyboard interaction, and adherence to WCAG guidelines.
β’ Proficiency in Git-based collaboration and pull-request processes.
β’ Experience in a modern agile product team and managing incremental backlogs using Linear, Jira, or similar tools.
β’ Practical knowledge of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent tools.
β’ Exceptional interpersonal skills and a tactful, empathetic communication style.
β’ Must reside in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, or Tennessee.
β’ Completion of the Culture Index survey is required after applying.
β’ Preferred: experience in production with C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, EF Core, and SQL Server.
β’ Preferred: familiarity with a design system or component library, such as Storybook or Chromatic.
β’ Preferred: experience with Azure or other cloud platforms and exposure to CI/CD.
β’ Preferred: experience in greenfield or 0-to-1 product development.
β’ Preferred: background in finance, payroll, ERP, fintech, or local-government domains.
β’ Preferred: experience in regulated or audit-focused product environments.
