Software Engineer – Full-Stack Web

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop product features centered on workflows utilizing React, TypeScript, REST APIs, and relational data access.

• Take ownership of specific features from initial clarification and technical design to implementation, testing, release, and post-production follow-up.

• Contribute to backend code using C#/.NET and EF Core.

• Convert designs into accessible, responsive, and maintainable interfaces for forms, tables, approvals, permissions, and data-heavy workflows.

• Work closely with the Product Design Lead to address interaction specifics and ensure a unified user experience.

• Enhance and repurpose shared components and design-system patterns.

• Design and utilize REST APIs, incorporating validation, error handling, and frontend/backend contracts.

• Collaborate with relational schemas and an ORM to implement safe data modifications and troubleshoot correctness or performance issues.

• Assist in developing import and integration workflows for migrating customer data into the new SaaS suite.

• Create unit and integration tests that encompass user behaviors and business rules.

• Identify issues across browser state, network boundaries, application code, and database queries.

• Engage in backlog refinement, code reviews, pairing, and agile delivery using GitHub and Linear.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools judiciously while maintaining responsibility for code quality and customer impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional software engineering experience in developing production web applications.

• Extensive production experience with React and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with a backend web framework such as C#/.NET, Java/Spring, Python/FastAPI or Flask, Node.js, or similar technologies.

• Strong understanding of REST API principles, including validation, error handling, authentication flows, and client/server debugging.

• Experience with relational databases and an ORM; ability to analyze schemas, queries, and data integrity.

• Practical experience in unit and integration testing for both frontend and backend code.

• History of collaboration with product designers and interpreting design specifications.

• Accessibility expertise with complex forms, data grids, keyboard interaction, and adherence to WCAG guidelines.

• Proficiency in Git-based collaboration and pull-request processes.

• Experience in a modern agile product team and managing incremental backlogs using Linear, Jira, or similar tools.

• Practical knowledge of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent tools.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a tactful, empathetic communication style.

• Must reside in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, or Tennessee.

• Completion of the Culture Index survey is required after applying.

• Preferred: experience in production with C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, EF Core, and SQL Server.

• Preferred: familiarity with a design system or component library, such as Storybook or Chromatic.

• Preferred: experience with Azure or other cloud platforms and exposure to CI/CD.

• Preferred: experience in greenfield or 0-to-1 product development.

• Preferred: background in finance, payroll, ERP, fintech, or local-government domains.

• Preferred: experience in regulated or audit-focused product environments.
