Software Engineer – Clients and Drivers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, including inception, design, development, testing, and deployment.

• Actively participate in open source software initiatives and contribute back, particularly focusing on Apache Arrow projects.

• Take part in code and design reviews to uphold high-quality standards while enhancing understanding of system architecture and implementation.

• Collaborate with program managers, support teams, architects, and others to address new feature requests and refine existing designs.

• Involve yourself in recruiting, mentoring, and promoting best practices within the team.

• Work directly with customers and client tool partners such as Tableau and Power BI.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• Proficiency in Java, C++, or another contemporary programming language.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded and asynchronous patterns, and their application in developing scalable systems.

• A commitment to quality, zero-downtime upgrades, availability, resilience, and platform uptime.

• Experience in developing scalable distributed systems.

• Expertise in deploying, scaling, and managing microservices.
