This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, development, design, implementation, and testing of software for population simulation.

• Collaborate with clients and end users to establish project requirements and create realistic timelines.

• Work alongside Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain technical solutions using back-end development tools and technologies.

• Write high-quality, testable, and efficient code, primarily utilizing Java.

• Suggest enhancements to existing application processes.

• Prepare and deliver software component releases.

• Offer technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure inquiries.

• Report directly to the VP of Engineering.


⛳️ Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility for clearance.

• Must be a citizen of the United States.

• Must reside within the contiguous United States.

• Must be employed as a W2 employee of GeoDelphi, Inc.

• No applications from third parties will be accepted.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a software engineering position.

• Proven experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software.

• Strong coding skills with a focus on quality and testability.

• Proficiency in both Java and Python programming languages.

• Solid understanding of DevOps and software/application development methodologies.

• Experience with continuous integration and software configuration management tools, including GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Nexus.

• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases along with query optimization techniques.

• Experience in gathering client requirements and solving workflow issues through automation optimization.

• Background in population simulation or related data simulation fields.

• Experience in geospatial engineering.

• Knowledge of Big Data processing tools such as Spark/Hadoop, Google BigQuery, AWS Athena, and EMR.

• Experience with public cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

• Strong skills in data visualization.
