Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and sustain enterprise software, scalable APIs/microservices, and secure integrations with third-party and AI/LLM provider APIs.

• Oversee system architecture, engage in design and code reviews, and utilize containerization, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and secure secrets management.

• Execute CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows utilizing Azure DevOps and Agile best practices.

• Design, implement, and manage relational databases; enhance performance, indexing, and query tuning.

• Supervise data pipelines, ETL processes, data warehouse architecture, and GitHub/GitLab workflows.

• Ensure database and data security, backup/disaster recovery, and data governance and compliance, including PII/HIPAA.

• Prepare and curate datasets for AI/ML and manage vector/embeddings stores used for RAG.

• Design, construct, deploy, and maintain RPA solutions; identify automation opportunities and integrate bots with APIs and enterprise systems.

• Merge RPA with AI/LLM capabilities for intelligent document processing, classification, and summarization.

• Design, prototype, and deploy LLM and agentic solutions including RAG, embeddings, semantic search, and multi-step agents.

• Assess model quality, latency, and cost trade-offs.

• Implement responsible AI practices including prompt/response logging, human-in-the-loop review, hallucination mitigation, and bias/accuracy monitoring.

• Collaborate with data, compliance, and business teams to transition use cases from proof of concept to production.

• Support Peraton's SafeGuard Services team in detecting, preventing, deterring, reducing, and referring fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare/Medicaid healthcare programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 years with a BS/BA; 0 years with an MS/MA; 6 years with a HS Diploma/equivalent.

• Experience in application development.

• Flexibility to work varied hours.

• Strong expertise in C#/.NET, Visual Studio, and the .NET Framework.

• Proficiency in ASP.NET MVC and OOP principles.

• Skilled in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL/PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of Python for automation and data-related tasks.

• Familiar with RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or MS Power Automate) and automation workflow design.

• Experience in designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating third-party and AI/LLM provider APIs.

• Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks.

• Proficient in Git and collaborative GitHub/GitLab workflows.

• Exposure to Azure OpenAI/OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, prompt engineering, or embedding-based search.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

• US citizenship is required.

• Desired: microservices architecture, event-driven design patterns, and TDD.

• Desired: MLOps/LLMOps, model evaluation, prompt and version management, guardrails, cost/latency optimization, and Python data stack.

• Desired: knowledge of the healthcare industry and HIPAA.

• Desired: experience with Azure/AWS and native AI/ML services.
