Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop new systems while enhancing and refactoring existing ones

• Integrate software with external systems

• Participate in performance improvement projects

• Collaborate with developers, QA, and Product Managers to design and implement features

• Offer insights on product and engineering roadmaps

• Work closely with the technical lead to define the Engineering vision and roadmap

• Design, develop, or modify software and software systems with service architecture in mind

• Assess user needs to decide whether to build or modify software

• Convert business requirements and specifications into usable, scalable software

• Lead design and code review sessions

• Engage in discussions regarding the team’s future vision and strategy

• Contribute to systems for Customer Communication, Identity, Decisions, or Portfolio Management

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience as a backend software engineer for complex web applications

• More than 3 years of experience with Ruby on Rails

• Critical thinker who ensures business functionality in their work

• Recognizes and considers business objectives in technical decisions

• Capable of breaking down large initiatives into manageable, incremental deliverables

• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex problems and solutions

• Able to collaborate across teams to address complex challenges

• Extensive experience in data model design for relational databases

• Additional advantage: Experience with Hotwire Turbo/Stimulus and Tailwind

• Additional advantage: Proficient in SQL for investigating complex issues or creating detailed reports

• Additional advantage: Strong experience in frontend development or infrastructure (DevOps)

• Additional advantage: Previous experience in FinTech
