Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and execute secure, cutting-edge solutions that support essential missions.

• Work collaboratively with technical leaders, business stakeholders, and a diverse team.

• Play a role in shaping technical strategy while ensuring alignment of solutions with organizational and program objectives.

• Develop software utilizing Java, JavaScript, and various scripting languages.

• Design data models and web APIs.

• Translate system requirements into actionable software tasks.

• Conduct requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, and integration testing.

• Diagnose and resolve system issues.

• Improve and sustain existing systems.

• Design, create, and document new features.

• Utilize Atlassian Tools for daily Scrum activities.

• Implement web services, data access features, and external interfaces.

• Adhere to Agile software development practices and team architecture standards.

• Construct and modify CI/CD pipelines within Azure Cloud.

• Manage deployments and maintenance in response to changing needs and requirements.

• Identify server and production challenges and apply cybersecurity measures.

• Guide junior-level software engineers.

• Occasional travel to client locations or meetings may be necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in the continental United States.

• Over 7 years of software development experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance issued by the United States Postal Service.

• U.S. Citizenship is required to qualify for the security clearance.

• At least 5 years of experience in Java development.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Azure Cloud.

• Proficient in Java, JavaScript, React, Gradle/Maven, HTML, CSS, and object-oriented programming languages.

• Familiarity with architecture and CI/CD environments, including Docker, Ansible, and Jenkins.

• Experience with Python, Bash, or Perl scripting on Linux systems or environments.

• Competent in Azure Cloud with the ability to deliver a system end to end.

• Experience with Git and/or Bitbucket.

• Preferred experience in developing user interfaces and front-end technologies using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and React.

• Preferred familiarity with Gradle.

• Proven track record in designing, developing, enhancing, troubleshooting, and debugging web applications.

• Experience with version control systems such as Git and/or Bitbucket.

• Experience in developing and integrating complex software systems throughout the full SDLC.

• Background in Agile Scrum practices.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Capability to occasionally lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
