Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guide the agent team on production workflows by breaking down challenges, assigning tasks, and integrating results into deployed software.

• Evaluate agent-generated pull requests extensively for accuracy, security, and accessibility issues.

• Create evaluation suites that quantify software quality.

• Take ownership of correctness, performance, security posture, and compliance with WCAG accessibility from start to finish.

• Transition workflows from supervised to self-sufficient execution based on assessed reliability.

• Revoke autonomy when reliability does not meet standards.

• Detect declines in patterns, prompts, or pipeline components and collaborate with the lead architect on solutions.

• Sustain agent operations within the security perimeter utilizing branch-only execution, secured credentials, sandboxed actions, and in-VPC inference.

• Contribute to lifecycle standards and develop reusable prompt and evaluation frameworks.

• Mentor engineers in transitioning to agent-directed delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid engineering principles in data structures, systems architecture, and testing methodologies.

• Capability to quickly comprehend unfamiliar code and evaluate it accurately.

• Proven experience in shipping production software and taking responsibility for quality, diagnosis, and remediation upon failure.

• Practical experience in directing coding agents on production tasks.

• Familiarity with coding-agent failure modes and the ability to critically assess agent-generated code.

• Proven competence in code review, including the ability to identify defects that automated tests may overlook.

• High level of autonomy and proactive escalation skills.

• Preferred: experience within FedRAMP, defense, financial services, healthcare, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, or HIPAA-regulated environments.

• Preferred: background in evaluation authoring or test-first development practices.

• Preferred: full-stack experience reviewing both front-end and back-end code.

• Preferred: experience in the public sector or government technology.

• Must maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company information assets.

• Must ensure the privacy of employee and customer data while completing necessary privacy training.
