Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and maintain conversational voice AI functionalities on Clarus's CIVR inbound and Engage outbound platforms.

• Engage with telephony systems such as Twilio/Telnyx and LiveKit.

• Integrate speech-to-text and text-to-speech services like Deepgram and LLMs.

• Optimize call flow logic, caller authentication, escalation and warm-transfer processes, along with improving conversational accuracy.

• Contribute to backend services, EHR integrations, and data pipelines that support revenue cycle and patient communication workflows.

• Take part in code reviews and create as well as maintain tests.

• Document technical designs efficiently.

• Collaborate closely with the VP of AI Engineering and cross-functional product and compliance teams.

• Monitor and address production issues effectively.

• Engage in light on-call support and conduct root-cause analysis.

• Contribute to long-term solutions and ongoing enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A specific degree is not mandatory; equivalent skills acquired through coursework, bootcamps, self-directed study, or personal/open-source projects are acceptable.

• 0–2 years of professional or applied project experience in software engineering, including internships, academic projects, or personal initiatives.

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Node.js.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and integrations with third-party services.

• Experience with Git and collaborative development practices, including code reviews, pull requests, and CI/CD.

• Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts; AWS is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a quick aptitude for learning new technologies.

• Excellent written communication and self-management skills.

• Capability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous setting.

• Must possess and maintain in good standing a professional license, certificate, or registration, as applicable.

• Ability to ensure a private environment suitable for handling confidential PHI work.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, including tests for medical and recreational marijuana.
