Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain clean, scalable features using Node.js, JavaScript frameworks, and MSSQL.

• Architect and integrate RESTful services and microservices in accordance with SOA principles.

• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure quality, security, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, QA, and engineering teams to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and enhance features.

• Develop AI-driven features and take ownership of AI initiatives within the product roadmap.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance development speed and productivity.

• Deploy and monitor applications utilizing Docker and AWS.

• Establish effective deployment and monitoring practices.

• Advocate for best practices, share knowledge, suggest improvements, and refine internal processes.

• Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.

• Independently deliver impactful customer-facing features to production.

• Participate in the on-call rotation to address production issues.

• Take ownership of a service or domain area, including reliability and input on the roadmap.

• Enhance tooling, tests, documentation, AI workflows, latency, deployment time, flaky tests, or defect escape rates.

• Engage in hiring-manager and team evaluation discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in software engineering roles.

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in building production-grade applications with Node.js.

• Over 3 years of practical experience with Node.js.

• Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript and/or relevant frameworks, MSSQL, Docker, and AWS.

• Experience with TypeScript is a plus.

• Proven professional experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of a standard workflow.

• Experience in delivering LLM-powered product features is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools for multi-file refactoring, migrations, and test coverage.

• Capability to maintain context files, rules, and prompts for team-wide AI tools.

• Experience in delivering LLM-backed features and managing nondeterministic tests, token costs, latency, and data guardrails.

• Ability to assess AI feature quality and decide when not to utilize a model.

• Understanding of REST/SOA principles and microservice architectures.

• Proficiency with GitHub, including branching, merging, code reviews, and pull requests.

• Capability to design REST APIs.

• Ability to write secure, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Strong collaboration skills with product managers, developers, QA, and engineering leadership.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, but not required.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States; student visas and sponsorship are not accepted.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

• Ability to work at a computer for prolonged durations.
