Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs utilizing Python.

• Create production web services with stable, reusable interfaces tailored for cloud and AI integrations.

• Convert product and business requirements into maintainable software solutions.

• Employ object-oriented design and engineering practices to produce clear, reliable code.

• Work with relational databases, caching mechanisms, messaging systems, and managed cloud services.

• Enhance application reliability, performance, security, and observability.

• Implement authentication, request validation, rate limiting, logging, and consistent error handling.

• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and apply preventative enhancements.

• Refine engineering documentation and operational methodologies.

• Write and uphold unit, integration, and performance tests.

• Engage in code reviews and collaborative development efforts.

• Contribute to containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver tested, production-ready services.

• Share expertise and support continuous improvement initiatives across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional backend software engineering experience.

• Proven experience in designing and maintaining REST APIs and production-level web services.

• Familiarity with automated testing, Git-based development, and CI/CD methodologies.

• Knowledge of secure coding practices, application monitoring, and production support.

• Proficient in Python programming and object-oriented design principles.

• Experience with at least one major cloud platform; preference for Google Cloud.

• Capability to build, test, and maintain backend services and APIs for production environments.

• Understanding of engineering practices that ensure reliable, secure, and maintainable software.

• Candidates must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
