Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and execute comprehensive systems analysis, design, and development initiatives.

• Act as a lead contributor and individual contributor on intricate projects.

• Offer analytical consulting and technological leadership to align with client and Bank business goals.

• Supervise and guide less experienced team members while coordinating development tasks.

• Develop and oversee the technical aspects of project plans.

• Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology teams throughout the systems development lifecycle, from technical analysis to user acceptance testing.

• Create and evaluate test data, implement detailed test plans, and conduct debugging processes.

• Analyze complex interactions among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms.

• Draft and review technical and functional specifications as well as systems documentation.

• Generate charts, tables, and diagrams for problem analysis.

• Prepare and evaluate project assessments, task estimates, timelines, and resource requirements.

• Ensure the efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications.

• Suggest technologies, policies, and processes while participating in vendor software assessments.

• Uphold and advocate for development standards and procedures.

• Assist in managing expense and capital budgets.

• Evaluate employee performance and may conduct annual performance appraisals.

• Comply with risk, regulatory, and internal control standards while escalating risk-related concerns.

• Foster diversity and promote the Bank's brand.

• Address internal and external audit points and resolve issues raised by regulators.

• Undertake related responsibilities, which may include leadership roles in due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, or business studies.

• Operate independently on high-level systems analysis and technical development stages.

• Oversee the activities of others and guide project initiatives.

• Assess staff performance and aid in the development of junior team members.

• Engage with senior management, technology staff, clients, and vendors.

• Provide support to senior management and act as a technical representative in committees or ad-hoc projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of an Associate's degree and 6 years of experience in systems analysis/application development, or alternatively, a combined total of at least 8 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 6 years in systems analysis/application development.

• Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.

• Proficient in using personal computers, relevant project management software, word processing applications, and spreadsheet tools.

• Capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to various audiences.

• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.

• Detail-oriented approach.

• Strong lateral thinking abilities.

• Experience in coordinating between Applications and business units.

• Proven experience in recommending and implementing system solutions.

• Demonstrated ability to drive project milestones and ensure timely delivery.

• Established mentoring and leadership skills from a project management viewpoint.

• Solid understanding of the Bank's application framework.

• Subject matter expertise in the business with knowledge or experience using the supported application/system.

• Advanced knowledge of supported applications and integrated applications.

• Ability to work both collaboratively in a team setting and independently.

• Proficient in multitasking across various components of complex projects.
