Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage intricate systems analysis, design, and development initiatives.

• Act as both a leader and an individual contributor on complex projects.

• Offer analytical consulting and leadership to recognize and implement information technology solutions that align with client and Bank objectives.

• Oversee and guide less experienced team members while coordinating development tasks.

• Prepare and manage the technical aspects of project plans.

• Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology staff to determine systems development direction, from technical analysis to user acceptance testing.

• Prepare and evaluate test data, execute comprehensive test plans, and finalize debugging processes.

• Assess complex interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms.

• Draft and review both technical and functional specifications as well as systems documentation.

• Create charts, tables, and diagrams for problem analysis and review documentation produced by less experienced staff.

• Compile and assess project evaluations, task estimates, timelines, and effort estimates.

• Ensure the efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications.

• Suggest technologies, policies, and processes, and either lead or take part in vendor software evaluations.

• Adhere to and promote development standards and procedures.

• Maintain expert knowledge of supported applications, development environments, and client environments.

• Assist in managing expense and capital budgets.

• Monitor employee performance and may prepare annual performance reviews.

• Comply with risk, regulatory, and internal control standards, escalating risk-related issues when necessary.

• Foster diversity and promote the Bank brand.

• Implement internal and external audit recommendations and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Perform related duties, including leading due diligence, cost/benefit analyses, or business studies.

• Operate independently during high-level systems analysis and technical development phases.

• Manage the activities of others and lead project initiatives.

• Engage with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors.

• Provide backup support to higher management and act as a technical representative on committees or special projects.

• Mentor and develop less experienced team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of an Associate's degree and 6 years of experience in systems analysis/application development, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 6 years in systems analysis/application development.

• Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.

• Proficient in using personal computers, relevant project management software, word processing software, and spreadsheet applications.

• Capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience presenting to target audiences.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong lateral thinking abilities.

• Experience in coordinating between Applications and business units.

• Background in recommending and implementing system solutions.

• Proven track record of driving project milestones and meeting delivery deadlines.

• Demonstrated mentoring and leadership skills from a project management perspective.

• Good understanding of the Bank's application framework.

• Subject matter expertise in the business with knowledge or experience in utilizing the supported application/system.

• Advanced knowledge of interfacing/integrated applications.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.

• Capacity to multitask across various components of complex projects.
