This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design and improve automated testing frameworks for firmware and system-level validation.
• Facilitate automation for replicating customer issues, debugging workflows, and qualifying releases.
• Document the FIRE, SRT, and EUI5 architecture, frameworks, APIs, workflows, troubleshooting methods, and design choices.
• Develop software solutions that minimize manual work, enhance repeatability, and expand automation coverage.
• Aid in root-cause analysis of firmware and system-level problems by enhancing observability and debugging tools.
• Convert validation and customer issue needs into software infrastructure and tooling solutions.
• Engage in design reviews, code assessments, architectural discussions, and technical planning.
• Assist in transitioning from manual or script-based processes to robust, platform-centric automation.
• Create and maintain automated test frameworks, integrate lab instruments and hardware platforms, and assist in hardware-software debugging.
• Contribute to documenting and transferring essential system knowledge to full-time engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Strong enthusiasm for embedded systems, firmware verification, automation infrastructure, and optical transceiver technologies.
• Proficient in developing software in one or more programming languages such as Python, C/C++, C#, or similar.
• Experience with automation frameworks, testing infrastructure, hardware/software integration, or embedded system validation.
• Solid understanding of software development practices, encompassing version control, debugging, code reviews, and documentation.
• Proficient in Python programming and Git version control.
• Familiarity with common buses and communication protocols, including UART, I2C, and SPI.
• Knowledge of instrument and hardware control, covering digital I/O, timers, ADCs, UARTs, and low power modes.
• Experience at the hardware/software interface, including register manipulation and interpreting hardware specifications.
• Comfortable using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and related equipment.
• Practical hands-on lab experience with hardware.
• Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of collaborating effectively with other core team members for module development.
