This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create, test, and implement high-caliber, scalable software solutions.
• Engage in technical discussions and play a role in system architecture decisions.
• Center system design on flexibility and long-term sustainability.
• Spearhead the design, implementation, and upkeep of production AI features, including RAG systems, vector search, LLM integrations, and autonomous agents.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools while preserving code integrity.
• Work alongside product managers, designers, and engineers to convert user requirements into features and enhancements.
• Enhance application performance while ensuring security and reliability.
• Perform comprehensive code reviews.
• Identify and address technical challenges, offering solutions.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of development processes.
• Assess and integrate emerging technologies, including LLM integrations and advancements in automated testing.
• Mentor the team on contemporary engineering best practices, TypeScript typing, and AI prompting for complex refactors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide full-stack solutions.
• Report directly to the Sr Engineering Manager.
• Over 5 years of software engineering experience in developing scalable, enterprise-level applications.
• Experience in dynamic software startup environments where rapid shipping and iteration are crucial.
• Proven experience in launching and managing real-world AI features in a live product, including RAG, LLM integrations, vector search, or AI agents.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript environments, particularly in the MEAN stack: MongoDB, Express, Angular, and Node.js.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor and Copilot.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks including Jest, Cypress, and Playwright.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, Azure, and Docker.
• Strong foundation in relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with vector search or search indexing, like MongoDB Atlas Vector Search.
• A security-first mindset for managing sensitive corporate information.
• Ability to articulate technical and AI trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be authorized to live and work full-time in Canada.
