Software Development Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy intricate full-stack features encompassing Python backend services, APIs, RPA/automation workflows, and browser-extension UI/automation.

• Create and enhance Chrome extensions utilizing content scripts, background/service-worker logic, side-panel UI, and DOM tools.

• Take ownership of automation and product components from the initial requirements gathering to production deployment.

• Assess business and clinical/RCM processes and convert them into effective automation workflows.

• Connect extension clients with backend orchestration using HTTP and WebSockets.

• Participate in technical design discussions focused on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Promote engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including code quality, testing, security, observability, and operational excellence.

• Develop resilient, thoroughly tested services and interfaces that integrate with products and external healthcare systems, such as EHRs and claims platforms.

• Ensure adherence to healthcare and data protection standards, including HIPAA and GDPR.

• Troubleshoot, profile, and enhance production systems and deployed automations.

• Guide engineers through design discussions, collaborative coding, and code reviews.

• Collaborate with product, clinical, RCM, and engineering stakeholders to deliver technically sound solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5–8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong record of developing and launching production systems.

• Extensive, up-to-date hands-on expertise in Python for backend services and automation.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and React, including modern state management techniques like Redux Toolkit and component-driven UI.

• Experience in developing browser extensions, preferably with Chrome MV3.

• Practical skills in DOM/browser automation, including CSS selectors, iframes, event simulation, and debugging automations against real web applications.

• Strong software design capabilities across backend services, APIs, WebSockets, and user-facing application layers.

• Experience in building or integrating RPA/workflow automation solutions.

• Familiarity with integrating third-party systems, databases, and distributed services in production settings.

• Direct experience operating production systems, including CI/CD, monitoring, performance optimization, and incident resolution.

• Understanding of healthcare data and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA and GDPR, or the ability to quickly learn about a regulated domain.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.

• Solid experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience with Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.

• Preferred: experience in healthcare RCM or EHR-adjacent automation.

• Preferred: knowledge of healthcare data standards such as FHIR and HL7, and systems like athenahealth or similar EHRs.

• Preferred: experience with WXT/Vite-based extension builds, Tailwind CSS, and React Router.

• Preferred: familiarity with AI/ML-assisted automation.

• Preferred: experience with event-driven or asynchronous Python systems.

• Preferred: practices for monitoring/reliability of production bots and selector resilience.

• Preferred: experience with MongoDB, Redis, and pytest or equivalent.
