Software Architect – GO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for the current architecture of the third-party casino platform.

• Simplify architectural complexities and create resilient solutions.

• Oversee the shift to an in-house infrastructure and a cohesive, high-performance codebase.

• Design and enhance scalable architectures for sportsbooks, casinos, and game studios.

• Develop systems that can manage significant traffic surges and real-time data pipelines.

• Establish service boundaries and create API contracts.

• Drive Proofs of Concept (POCs).

• Contribute to the architectural strategy for proprietary internal tools and other projects.

• Support the recruitment of backend engineers while retaining primary ownership of high-level architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2–3 years of experience as an Architect.

• Over 8 years of experience in developing high-volume, high-availability distributed systems.

• Strong backend engineering background with particular expertise in Golang.

• Demonstrated experience in designing architecture for iGaming, fintech, e-commerce, or comparable platforms.

• Expertise in AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Terragrunt).

• Ability to lead with technical authority as a proactive problem solver.

• Willingness to travel to Malta quarterly if residing in another European country.

• Experience in iGaming, sportsbook, or fintech (wallets, odds, or bonus engines) is advantageous.

• Familiarity with PCI-DSS or gaming regulatory standards is a plus.

• Experience with multi-region cloud deployments is beneficial.
