Social Media Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the mission of ONC by fostering a robust social media presence and community through nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions.

• Assist in the creation of content, strategizing rollout plans, engaging audiences, and analyzing data.

• Support the execution of the social media vision and strategy established by the Social Media Team Lead and Director of Media.

• Develop content for various social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

• Keep abreast of the latest trends across social media channels.

• Fulfill tasks as outlined in the content calendar.

• Propose ideas for review and inclusion on the content calendar.

• Conduct weekly analysis of social media data and adjust strategies as needed.

• Coordinate remotely via Zoom and Slack.

• Participate in weekly Organization-Wide and Social Media team meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current or recent student pursuing a degree in Digital Media, Media Studies, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related fields.

• Strong writing skills in English are essential.

• Proficient verbal communication skills are advantageous.

• Experience with social media platforms is required (e.g., Instagram, TikTok).

• Familiarity with Canva is preferred.

• Should be a responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even in challenging situations.

• Must be able to work remotely and manage their own schedule to meet deadlines.

• Experience with Google Workspace is preferred.

• Must be available for weekly Organization-Wide meetings.

• Must be available for the weekly Social Media team meeting.

• Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
