Social Media Content Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Generate concepts and produce short-form videos for ONC’s Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other pertinent social media platforms.

• Present on camera and convey content in a confident, natural, and captivating manner.

• Develop hooks, scripts, talking points, and storyboards that make civic topics accessible.

• Record and edit videos utilizing appropriate mobile or desktop applications, incorporating captions, cuts, transitions, and formats native to the platforms.

• Monitor ongoing social media trends, formats, sounds, and audience behaviors, and evaluate which trends resonate with ONC’s voice and mission.

• Strike a balance between entertainment and education, ensuring accuracy and nonpartisan representation.

• Work in collaboration with writers, designers, and podcast team members to adapt ideas and content across various platforms.

• Engage in feedback processes and revisions, delivering content within agreed-upon timelines.

• Collaborate remotely using tools such as Zoom, Slack, and Google Workspace.

• Comfortable being on camera and addressing an audience.

• Some experience in creating videos or social media content through educational settings, personal projects, clubs, or professional work.

• Acquainted with Instagram, TikTok, Reels, and contemporary short-form video trends.

• Capability to produce content that is concise, visually appealing, and easy to comprehend.

• Creativity, dependability, receptiveness to feedback, and a genuine interest in ONC’s mission.

• Ability to verify claims and present political or civic topics in a fair and accurate manner.

• Access to a device that can record video.

• Must commit to the position until the conclusion of the current semester.
