This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the on-site Safety Officer for designated projects

• Oversee and assess job sites to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and identify possible hazards

• Enforce safety and health policies on-site while discussing concerns with project managers, contractors, and safety experts

• Deliver health and safety training and information to employees working on-site

• Develop and uphold a jobsite safety culture in alignment with Gray’s safety program

• Support the onboarding and mentoring of new safety team members on-site

• Review and assess contractor safety programs to ensure compliance

• Guide contractors to maintain adherence to Gray guidelines

• Keep safety records as specified by owners and Gray

• Aid in the creation of project-specific safety and emergency response plans

• Collaborate with supervisory staff to address workforce complaints and grievances

• Oversee multiple subordinate team members, including training, work assignments, performance management, and problem resolution

• Indirectly supervise subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers

• Travel to project locations across the United States and potentially abroad


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental health and safety (or a related field) along with at least 5 years of applicable construction safety experience or training, OR 5–10 years of related construction safety experience or training

• Strong leadership capabilities to foster a collaborative and effective team

• Experience in light/heavy industrial construction

• Proficient in recognizing potential risks and leading corrective measures

• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

• Strong interpersonal skills coupled with effective verbal and written communication

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and tablet usage

• NCSO and Advanced First Aid certifications are highly preferred

• The selected candidate may reside anywhere in the USA and must be willing to travel to project sites according to Gray’s travel policy

• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

• Capability to meet physical demands, including frequent lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting/moving up to 100 lbs

• Ability to work in wet/humid environments, around moving machinery, outdoors, at heights, near fumes/airborne particles, in extreme temperatures, and under electrical hazards, explosives, vibrations, and moderate-to-loud noise

• Overtime may be necessary
