This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Lead and cultivate the settlement negotiators and support team.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and oversee team performance.
• Conduct structured one-on-ones, file reviews, and coaching sessions.
• Create individual development plans focused on valuation accuracy, negotiation skills, and file velocity.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to address performance and conduct issues.
• Oversee settlement volume, average settlement value, policy-limits capture rate, net client recovery, pre-suit stage time, aged-file exposure, demand turnaround, and negotiator productivity KPIs.
• Establish performance standards based on jurisdiction, case type, treatment posture, coverage, and liability profile.
• Review pipeline and performance data weekly to diagnose performance changes.
• Report department performance, forecasts, and risks to firm leadership.
• Manage aged and stalled inventory.
• Act as the final internal authority on valuation and settlement strategy within approval limits.
• Review and authorize demand packages, settlement authority requests, and counteroffers.
• Apply and instruct on valuation methodology across various injury types, including soft tissue, injections, surgical intervention, and traumatic brain injury.
• Identify bad faith setups, policy-limits opportunities, UM/UIM exposure, and coverage issues.
• Personally handle or co-handle high-exposure and sensitive negotiations.
• Continuously maintain and enhance SOPs, checklists, templates, and case-stage definitions.
• Partner with medical management on treatment monitoring, records, billing, reductions, and lien resolution.
• Collaborate with intake, case management, and litigation teams on handoffs and case-quality feedback.
• Ensure that negotiated resolutions are documented, compliant, client-approved, and disbursed accurately and promptly.
• Implement and assess technology, reporting, and workflow improvements.
• Set standards for client settlement counseling and communication.
• Ensure communication with clients occurs in their preferred language.
• Address escalated client concerns and enhance processes based on feedback received.
• Three to five years of progressive experience in personal injury, specifically in pre-suit settlement and negotiation.
• A minimum of three years managing a settlements, pre-litigation, or case management team directly.
• Proven experience in managing through metrics.
• Background in setting performance standards, tracking performance, holding team members accountable, coaching underperformers, and making performance-related decisions.
• Proficiency in case valuation, including medical specials, treatment trajectory, procedure-level valuation, comparative fault, coverage layers, and venue analysis.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with Florida personal injury practice, including PIP, the statutory pre-suit framework, and relevant damages and fee rules.
• Comfortable working within a case management system, generating reports, and utilizing spreadsheets.
• Ability to create or interpret a pipeline report and draw insights from it.
• Curriculum Vitae must be submitted in English.
