Server Tech Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Diagnose hardware and network issues remotely on Akamai servers throughout the APJ region.

• Facilitate server repairs in collaboration with ISPs and Field Engineers.

• Coordinate the return of Akamai equipment to both warehouses and vendors.

• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering to identify and address hardware issues post-deployment.

• Monitor patterns of hardware failure and proactively report findings to Hardware Engineering and vendors.

• Oversee the management of Akamai's hardware assets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in technology or a related field, or relevant professional experience.

• A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with network and server hardware, specifically in fault diagnosis.

• Fundamental knowledge of server hardware technologies, including hard drives, RAM, motherboards, and RAID systems.

• Basic understanding of Layer 1 and 2 troubleshooting, the OSI Model, and the Unix/Linux command-line interface (CLI).

• Familiarity with data center technologies and infrastructure.

• Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, third-party service providers, and vendors.

• Outstanding analytical abilities and a systematic approach to gathering relevant information for troubleshooting and problem resolution.

• Willingness to occasionally work outside of standard office hours.
