This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Build, migrate, and execute in-place upgrades of Windows Server operating systems.
• Design, implement, and provide support for enterprise Windows Server and VMware-based infrastructure solutions.
• Engage in Cloud and Hybrid Cloud transformation, migration, consolidation, and modernization projects.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and related software.
• Administer and sustain VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, and associated VMware technologies.
• Oversee system backup, storage, networking, and recovery operations to ensure high availability and business continuity.
• Create and implement automation solutions utilizing PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, or similar technologies.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and third-level support for intricate infrastructure issues.
• Execute complex infrastructure changes and devise detailed implementation and back-out plans.
• Monitor enterprise systems, antivirus solutions, patch compliance, performance metrics, and user administration activities.
• Conduct health assessments, capacity analyses, log reviews, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Prepare and uphold technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools like Anthropic Claude to enhance documentation, technical analysis, automation development, and operational efficiency.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and management.
• Support disaster recovery, resiliency, and business continuity initiatives across enterprise and cloud environments.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 7 years of Windows Server administration experience in enterprise settings.
• More than 7 years of hands-on experience with VMware virtualization (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter).
• Experience in building, upgrading, migrating, and managing Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2022, and 2025.
• Proficient knowledge of VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, and associated virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with PowerShell, PowerCLI, and/or Python scripting for automation purposes.
• Understanding of server hardware, storage, and networking fundamentals in virtualized environments.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability/business continuity solutions.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows infrastructure services.
• Competence in patch management, antivirus/endpoint compliance, and performance monitoring tools.
• Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and change management processes.
• Strong skills in technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
• Candidates should be eligible for any required U.S. Government authorizations for access to export-controlled commodities and technology.
• Familiarity with AI-powered productivity and technical analysis tools, including Anthropic Claude, is highly desirable.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) is preferred but not mandatory.
