Senior/Staff Engineer, Application & Product Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Foster a culture of security by default and incorporate layered defense into frameworks, architecture, and daily operations.

• Establish security requirements and collaborate with teams to seamlessly integrate them into new applications and services.

• Conduct manual inspections of source code to gain a comprehensive understanding of products.

• Lead the product security roadmap in partnership with product, engineering, and the broader security team.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, DevOps, and services to deliver secure software without hindering team progress.

• Create solutions to address and reduce vulnerabilities and risks.

• Investigate threats and attack methods relevant to Grow.

• Execute security risk assessments, practical penetration testing, and threat modeling.

• Transform findings into secure coding training for engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in application or product security.

• Proficient coding ability to automate repetitive tasks and develop frameworks or services that address security challenges.

• Practical experience with microservice architectures.

• Strong collaboration skills within a security team and across the broader engineering organization.

• Capability to prioritize based on actual risk instead of mere vulnerability counts.

• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of a codebase.

• Familiarity with SAST, DAST, and SBOM tools.

• Ability to engage with product managers, service teams, and engineers effectively.
