Senior/Principal Medical Editor – Publications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Stay updated on FDA, EU, and other pertinent guidelines and industry standards

• Act as a representative of the editorial team within medical writing, study groups, and interdepartmental project teams

• Oversee project timelines and budgets while identifying and escalating potential risks to deliverables

• Offer technical support and specialized knowledge

• Facilitate training sessions and mentor medical editing personnel

• Guide medical writers, editors, and study teams on quality assessments, compilation, and editorial benchmarks

• Lead the delivery of complex and/or large-scale medical writing initiatives

• Organize and conduct internal meetings specific to project teams

• Arrange project-specific requirements and ensure effective communication and implementation of information

• Participate in medical writing teams and provide progress updates to the lead medical writer

• Edit documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to style

• Conduct quality reviews of assigned documents

• Contribute to the development of process improvement tools and internal policies

• Manage assigned projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget

• Compile medical writing deliverables as required

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of FDA, EU, and other relevant guidelines and industry standards

• Familiarity with the AMA Manual of Style

• Experience in utilizing internal checklists and best practices for medical writing

• Competence in performing quality reviews of assigned documents

• Ability to manage projects in line with medical writing standard operating procedures and client expectations

• Capability to take the lead on complex and/or large medical writing projects

• Proficiency in providing technical assistance, mentoring staff, and delivering training

• Skill in tracking project timelines and budgets

• Equivalent experience, skills, and/or education will also be taken into account
