This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Enhance The Atlantic's coverage of Hollywood and the wider entertainment sector.
• Influence the reporting on the business and industry of Hollywood as part of the Culture team.
• Provide exclusive insights and comprehensive analysis for a general audience.
• Direct well-researched stories that clarify changes across studios, platforms, Hollywood's workforce, and more.
• Recognize emerging trends and forecast the direction of upcoming stories.
• Create engaging narratives about the dynamics of power, absurdities, and entertainment in Hollywood.
• Be prepared to work during nights, early mornings, and weekends as necessary.
• Collaborate effectively within a cohesive editorial team.
• Over 10 years of experience, showcasing an ability to influence discussions surrounding culture and the culture industry.
• A magazine-oriented mindset, outstanding editing capabilities, and a keen interest in ideas-driven journalism.
• Extremely high standards for clarity, accuracy, and journalistic integrity.
• An inherently collaborative attitude and a commitment to working within a close-knit team.
• A strong desire to be involved in urgent and significant stories.
• Proficiency in technology, business, and national politics, along with a nuanced comprehension of their interplay with the culture industry.
• Excellent story judgment and considerable experience in mentoring reporters.
