This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Uphold quality and brand editorial standards for assigned projects within a dynamic agency setting.
• Develop, maintain, and share brand style guidelines.
• Revise style guides in response to client and regulatory input.
• Evaluate brand materials and projects for accuracy, credibility, appropriateness, compliance, and adherence to style.
• Conduct cold reads, word-for-word checks, change verifications, and fact-checking.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with brand style guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for editing efficiencies and mentor colleagues.
• Provide guidance to brand teams, copywriters, and peers on editorial matters.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new team members to brand and USM methodologies.
• Guarantee that projects are devoid of textual and data visualization errors.
• Collaborate effectively with copy, art, project management, client services/account teams, shared solutions, and other staff members.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and selected client representatives.
• Offer constructive feedback during editorial evaluations.
• Meet assignment deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
• Accurately track time and comply with company policies and SOPs.
• Support editorial projects outside of assigned accounts as necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, ideally in English.
• Previous proofreading or editing experience is mandatory.
• Proficiency in computer usage is necessary.
• Experience in fact-checking annotations to ensure they accurately support claims and conform to established style is required.
• Between 2 to 4 years of experience in proofreading and/or editing within a fast-paced pharmaceutical agency or a similar environment is expected.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is essential.
• Familiarity with internet and secondary research tools is needed.
• Knowledge of AMA style is required.
• Familiarity with Dorland’s and PubMed is preferred.
• Experience with digital routing is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision as part of a cross-functional team is crucial.
• A strong command of the English language is essential.
• Fluency in AMA style and the ability to resolve stylistic questions are necessary.
• Capability to conduct secondary research is required.
• Ability to work on complex documents for extended periods while maintaining concentration and diligence is necessary.
