This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Define and document the user, stakeholder, and technical requirements for communication systems, sensors, surveillance, and other products.
β’ Continuously review and refine requirements as more information becomes available.
β’ Evaluate technologies and steer development efforts in collaboration with CBP stakeholders, program managers, and technical specialists.
β’ Contribute to program strategies and facilitate the deployment of integrated systems.
β’ Perform field-focused technical evaluations.
β’ Create engineering and program documentation.
β’ Set project requirements baselines and analyze requirements to identify deficiencies and cost drivers.
β’ Break down high-level functions into more detailed functions and document requirements using functional block diagrams, functional flow diagrams, timelines, and control/data flow diagrams.
β’ Conduct trade studies that support functional allocation, alternative architectures, solution sets, cost/performance trade-offs, and proposed system modifications.
β’ Execute Analysis of Alternatives, Alternative Analysis, and DOTMLPF analysis.
β’ Document the results of analyses in reports related to requirements, constraint evaluation, cost-benefit analysis, and trade studies.
β’ Prepare and update Requirements Analysis Reports, Functional Requirements Documents, Constraint Evaluation Analysis Reports, Cost Benefit Reports, and Trade Studies Reports.
β’ Travel 20%, including to remote and rugged locations.
β’ U.S. citizenship is required.
β’ Ability to pass a CBP Background Investigation (BI).
β’ Must meet eligibility criteria for a U.S. Government security clearance.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in applied engineering, technology assessment, or systems development.
β’ Knowledge of DHS or DOD acquisition processes, including SELC and test planning.
β’ Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing abilities.
β’ Experience collaborating with technical and operational teams in mission-focused environments.
β’ A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
β’ Active CBP BI is preferred.
