This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Create user journeys, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for web pages and various components.
• Contribute to the web design system by adding components and patterns, ensuring documentation is up-to-date.
• Produce specifications, redlines, and handoff documentation for distributed engineering teams.
• Collaborate directly in Jira with developers, managing design tickets until completion.
• Evaluate live branches and staging builds to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Conduct user research in partnership with the research lead.
• Design and develop conversion-centered web pages on a staging branch within the CMS.
• Utilize AI-assisted and design-to-code tools to enhance handoff processes and minimize manual production tasks.
• Articulate design choices to stakeholders and integrate their feedback.
• Work alongside engineers, web authors, TPMs, and web strategists to deliver polished and accessible experiences.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to comprehend and communicate user needs and objectives.
• Manage ambiguity while juggling multiple projects and priorities.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed.
• Over 5 years of experience in designing web or product experiences, preferably in a CMS-driven or component-based setting.
• Proven experience in preparing detailed specifications and redlines for engineering handoff, particularly in asynchronous or distributed team environments.
• Comfortable working directly in Jira or a similar ticketing system alongside a development team, ensuring ticket completion.
• Familiarity with design systems, tokens, and component libraries, along with a genuine interest in maintaining and enhancing them.
• Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG) standards and their application in web design.
• Strong visual design skills, with attention to detail and consistency.
• Practical understanding of core design principles: hierarchy, typography, color, and layout.
• Solid interaction design and prototyping capabilities.
• High proficiency with Figma.
• Experience with usability testing, user research, or applying findings from research.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, with a curiosity about the design implementation process.
• Experience incorporating AI tools into your daily design workflow.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset and openness to feedback.
• Degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A portfolio showcasing strong UI/UX craftsmanship.
• Must reside in Costa Rica.
• Nice to have: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Adobe After Effects and Lottie.
• Nice to have: Understanding of front-end development concepts or experience in front-end coding.
• Nice to have: Experience with AI-assisted and generative design tools like Figma Make or Lovable.
