This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Define and implement the product strategy, commercialization plan, and growth initiatives for Avalon’s genetic testing management division.
• Provide strategic direction for a crucial business segment.
• Take ownership of the product vision, roadmap development, market strategy, partnership strategy, and overall business performance.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to pinpoint market opportunities and assess competitive landscapes.
• Set product investment priorities and propel business growth.
• Analyze emerging trends in the healthcare market.
• Create go-to-market strategies and pinpoint strategic partnerships.
• Ensure the delivery of unique solutions that fulfill customer and organizational goals.
• Work collaboratively across departments including Product Management, Clinical, Operations, Technology, Sales, Marketing, and Client Management.
• Continuously monitor the healthcare market for new technologies, data sources, care models, unmet needs, product opportunities, expansion possibilities, channels, and strategic alliances.
• Investigate precision medicine opportunities that address under-testing, delayed diagnosis, and therapy matching.
• Build and sustain an active network within the industry through events and conferences.
• Develop business cases for promising opportunities.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate scientific validity and commercial viability.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of healthcare, health data, and value-based care markets.
• Assess business models and partnerships that extend Avalon’s value beyond its current clientele.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in product strategy, product management, business strategy, healthcare technology, healthcare services, managed care, health plan operations, or related areas.
• At least five (5) years of leadership experience with accountability for product strategy, commercialization, business growth, and market development initiatives.
• Proven experience in managing product portfolios and business performance within regulated healthcare settings.
• Documented experience with product commercialization, market expansion, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Marketing, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record in developing and executing product strategy within healthcare, payer, health technology, managed care, or healthcare services organizations.
• Experience in profit and loss (P&L) management, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business case development.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH), or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience leading product organizations in healthcare technology, managed care, payer solutions, utilization management, clinical programs, population health, or healthcare analytics organizations.
• Preferred: Experience in developing and commercializing solutions for health plans, providers, employers, or healthcare technology organizations.
• Preferred: Experience in forming channel partnerships, strategic alliances, and business development initiatives.
• Preferred: Experience supporting products or services within highly regulated healthcare environments.
• Eligible for remote work.
• Quarterly travel to Avalon’s corporate office in Tampa, Florida.
