Senior Vice President – OSP Engineering, Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic leadership for Lumos' OSP Engineering & Construction division, ensuring effective achievement of monthly and annual fiber construction targets.

• Guide and support a team of regional OSP Vice Presidents by promoting accountability, collaboration, and servant leadership while enabling teams to operate effectively.

• Supervise engineering and construction performance, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with company goals.

• Manage capital expenditures by evaluating project performance, forecasting requirements, and ensuring responsible budget management.

• Propel the successful introduction of new fiber markets by collaborating with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to create agreements, ensure construction readiness, and develop deployment plans.

• Establish and enhance partnerships with local municipalities, directly engaging with community and market leaders to facilitate successful fiber deployment and address critical market needs.

• Develop and maintain robust relationships with construction partners, contractors, and vendors to support ongoing growth and scalability.

• Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence throughout all engineering and construction initiatives.

• Track performance using internal reporting tools and construction dashboards to guarantee schedule accuracy, quality, and overall program health.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to aid in strategic planning, operational enhancements, and long-term network expansion projects.

• Proven servant leadership with a collaborative, team-oriented management approach.

• Strong operational and financial expertise with experience in managing substantial capital construction budgets.

• Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

• Exceptional organizational abilities with a strong attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

• Comprehensive understanding of OSP engineering, fiber construction techniques, permitting, scheduling, and contractor management.

• Experience utilizing construction management and GIS platforms such as 3GIS, ESRI, or equivalent technologies.

• Skilled in relationship-building and influencing key stakeholders, including municipalities, community leaders, and other external partners.

• Capacity to adapt swiftly in a rapidly changing organization while maintaining focus on execution and outcomes.

• Over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in Outside Plant Engineering and Construction.

• Executive leadership experience overseeing large-scale fiber deployment initiatives.

• Extensive direct experience within a fiber overbuild organization.

• Experience managing capital budgets, contractor performance, and extensive deployment schedules.

• Proven success in forming strong partnerships with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional business leaders.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.

• Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application.

• Frequent travel, walking, and standing at active construction sites in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and appropriate safety footwear.

• Regular use of computers and standard office equipment, along with the communication and judgment necessary to inspect work and coordinate field activities.
